SINGAPORE -- The little blue pill is finally getting a green light from drug regulators on Thursday after it was found to have little effect on women with low sexual desire. The drug is being sold by the CVS and Walgreens pharmacy chain.
In a statement, the Food and Drug Administration said it was in the process of reviewing the drug for approval before it was sold to CVS.
The drug was marketed as Viagra, which is a prescription drug that contains sildenafil, which is the active ingredient in Viagra. CVS and Walgreens will not sell the drug.
It is not clear what effect Viagra has on women, and CVS said it was not aware of any adverse events.
